frequently asked questions

Kendra and Rachel are currently accepting new clients.

The first step to being a new client is to do a free 30-minute consultation with a prospective therapist. This will allow you and the therapist determine if you would be a good fit to work together.

A consultation is a chat to determine whether we would be a good fit to work together. Your prospective therapist will get to know you by asking questions about what is bringing you to therapy and you get to ask them any questions you have about what your work together might look like. Embracing Me psychotherapists provide free 30-minute consultations either over the phone or thorough video conferencing.

A typical session lasts 50-minutes.

The session fee varies depending on which practitioner you are working with. A 50-minute session with Kendra Davidson costs $140 + HST, while a 50-minute session with Rachel Delos Santos costs $125 + HST. Based upon a number of factors, including space, client financial means, and marginalization, there are sometimes sliding scale and reduced fee spots available.

Psychotherapists are covered under some, but not all, insurance plans. It is recommended that you check with your insurance before beginning therapy.

Yes! Kendra and Rachel are registered with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Kendra Davidson is a Registered Psychotherapist and Rachel Delos Santos is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). This grants them the privilege to perform the regulated act of psychotherapy to clients across Ontario.

During the first 1-2 sessions you will complete a structured interview with your therapist to get to know each other. We will ask you questions about your symptoms, sources of stress in your life, family and social relationships, history, risk factors, and strength and resiliency factors. We’ll also spend some time at the start of our first session going over some policies including privacy and confidentiality, late cancellation and missed session expectations, and the concerns and complaints process.
